It starts with the 3 Fs of Language Learning.
Language learning needs to be Fun, Flexible, and Functional.
You’ve probably found yourself leaning too far in one direction, ignoring the others and then feeling frustrated that you’re not getting to the next level.
That doesn’t happen because you’ve lost your edge and are no good at learning languages anymore, it happens because we’re not taught this stuff.
And the 3 Fs are just one example of the work we’ll do together.
Once you know how to learn a language this way, you can work with whatever dodgy app or half-trained teacher you want and STILL get the results that you want!
“Lindsay’s support is invaluable and she guides you through your journey of discovery. It’s been life changing for my languages.“

You get expert support to keep you accountable and inspired, our exclusive curriculum, and regular opportunities to practice your languages.
Language Life isn’t wishy-washy tips or “Are you a visual learner?” quizzes.
This is the real deal on how language learning actually works – and, most importantly, how it works for you.
The core principles of how to do this are the same – any person, any language, any level.
But if we leave it there, it doesn’t account for everything else you’ve got going on in your life, nor all the intricacies that make you you!
Together, I help you find what works best for you, by putting you at the centre rather than an afterthought.
Your home base for understanding how languages really work, and how you learn them best.
Twelve chapters guide you through every stage of language learning, with video lessons, easy-to-scroll summaries, practical workbooks and activities to help you apply what you learn.

AS FEATURED IN...
In many parts of the world, speaking several languages is just a way of life. For the rest of us, it’s a choice. One that often starts with excitement and curiosity, but somewhere along the way, gets tangled in frustration and self-doubt.
That’s where I come in. I’ve spent over two decades learning languages myself and recently completed an MA in Applied Linguistics. Now, I spend my days teaching how to learn languages.
Learning a language opens up a richer life: easier travel, deeper connection, and a sense of belonging that crosses borders. And I want that for you, too.
When I’m not helping people build that global confidence, you’ll find me trying new sports (because being a beginner keeps things interesting), hunting down old language books, or hanging out with my tortoise, Gonzo (who, despite my best efforts, still speaks a grand total of zero languages).
I appreciated how detailed all of the advice was…[the chapters of the curriculum] are really powerful…complete, encouraging and empowering.”
— Valerie
The best thing about Language Life hands down is the support and conversations with Lindsay.
The Self-Study Library is really good and gets you thinking; the conversations after each Chapter help you figure it out for your own personal context and make it work. She’s also really energising and fun to chat with!
— Alex
3 months into Language Life already ironed out those confidence issues, helped me give the boot to negative internal dialogue, and provided me with so many ideas for moving forward in both languages.
— Heidi
I saw progress in my self-awareness, planning, Māori language creation and more fluidity and creativeness in my Spanish language creation.
The process of doing a monthly review and having some feedback really helped with my self-awareness. This in combination with the goals, balance, motivation chapters helped me plan better and work with myself better.
— Alex
I’ve made a lot of progress in Polish and am getting consistently complimented.
— Anon
The program was helpful for keeping me moving forward and not letting a slow month snowball into stopping all activity.
It was overall helpful for learning how to diagnose what you want to get out of your language learning and finding concrete ways to implement those changes.
— Katie
I was in a never-ending cycle of questioning my identity as well as avoiding any interaction with the language. Now, I’m confident in conversing amongst my friends, cousins, & relatives in Thai and Chacavano.
— Rebecca
“My boyfriend recently started learning Chinese, and I wonder if a small part of that is because he saw me seriously showing up to Spanish and Turkish and maybe it inspired him to finally start learning a language that he’s always wanted to.”
– Valerie
“In Mandarin, I’m exceeding my own expectations, and I don’t care about anyone else’s. My current plans are working really well for me!”
– Anon

“The Speaking Types in the Speaking Chapter were an eye opener. Since I am learning 2 languages, and I think I previously thought I was utilizing the same strategies, but I was simply more advanced in one. But now I see the benefits for different approaches.”
– Jane
Starting Turkish as her first solo language outside of the classroom, Valerie wasn’t sure where to begin. But 3 months in, she shared that her biggest win was the consistency. She says it’s very rare for her to miss a day. When she does, she gets right back into things without feeling guilty.

This is for someone who has tried to learn a language before, maybe you’ve seen some success, but now things have got difficult.
Life has changed. You’re busier, you don’t have the time you used to and you can’t drop everything for a full-on immersion program!
You still love languages but you’re falling out of love with learning them because it feels like it’s not working like it used to.
You’ve been at the same level for ages – stuck at the plateau waiting for a real breakthrough to the next level.
You’re learning multiple languages (or have experience with studying more than one in the past) but wouldn’t really call yourself a polyglot.
Most clients do, but it’s not necessary! Language Life meets you where you are.
Many members have tried learning before, but beginners fit in perfectly too. I don’t teach a specific language; I teach you how to learn any language effectively. And that skill is valuable no matter your level.
If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, email me at lindsay@doeslanguages.com and we’ll talk it through together.
Generally, I tend to say 20-30 minutes a week.
Language Life is a 12 month program, with 12 chapters in the curriculum.
The video lessons in each chapter average to about an hour.
The exact total of the core curriculum videos is 12 hours 2 minutes and 18 seconds!
So completely doable in a year!
Everything else is pretty much a few minutes here and there – asking a question, listening to my answer on our private podcast feed, submitting your monthly review for feedback.
This is something that’s been designed to fit in neatly alongside your language learning without much disruption.
Nope! Language Life teaches you how to learn any language.
Once you know this stuff, you can go on to learn any language you want or need in the easiest and quickest way possible for you.
Nope!
The Self-Study Library in Language Life is exclusive to this program and goes much deeper.
Successful Self-Study is a smaller, self-contained course with no personal support.
With Language Life, you get the full package – the exclusive Self-Study Library, human support and feedback, and regular practice.
Not at all!
Naturally, speaking is something many of us want to do well in another language. So pieces of the program like the Speak 28×28 Challenge are there to help you get better at speaking.
But, I know that speaking isn’t everyone’s main goal. And besides, working across different skills helps you improve as a whole!
So this is a program to give you fuller, well-rounded fluency, not just speaking.
I’ll be honest, I’ve not seen anything else quite like Language Life!
There’s self-study options like books or courses to teach you how to learn. There’s the option of working with a language coach. And then there’s stuff out there to help you actually practice and improve your languages.
But they’re typically on their own.
Language Life combines it all! This is a full program designed to be your last language learning investment.
Absolutely! Many members are multilingual learners.
In fact, there’s a full lesson devoted to managing multiple languages, where I share my own Multiple Language Models to make progress easier and quicker than ever.
No. And that’s intentional.
I know that during our 12 months together in Language Life, there’ll inevitably be moments where life is “life-ing”… and that’s actually a good thing!
Language Life is designed to be your companion through the ups and downs. With a 12-month experience, you can move through growth phases and handle life’s interruptions with guidance and support.
Plus, you’ll have time to revisit, reflect, and integrate everything while still receiving feedback.
